LIVING SIMPLE

Thoughts from the forklift…

Simplify your spirituality. There is no need to become a biblical expert or “spiritual gangster”. Don’t wait for all the answers before you start to believe.  You never will have all the answers.  Simply build a relationship with God, your higher power, or whatever you refer to him or her as. A relationship builds faith, faith leads to belief.

There’s just one thing you truly need in this department – prayer. Nothing fancy, just a casual dialogue with your higher power. There are no formalities, no memorized recited prayers needed, just authentic conversation. A relationship.  Prayer is the fastest path to change in anyones life.

Ever noticed that the most truly connected and spiritual people share one very common trait.  They don’t constantly talk about God to others, telling others about how enlightened they are. No, instead they focus on talking TO God.  When we are truly connected and have God in our life, we don’t even need to speak to spread his word. We spread his love and way of life simply through how we live.

Jesus never said worship me. Jesus said follow me.

Action: I saw something like this done first by a pastor in Austin named John Burke. Put a repeating reminder on your calendar, for every other hour, titled “Stop, breath, and talk to God”. Take just two minutes every time this alert goes off…Have gratitude, be present, and ask God for direction. Stick to it for just one week and see what happens to your serenity. Do this for one week and you’ll fly by those who just show up for church. Don’t talk about God, just talk to God.
